II had atrial fibrillation, and was advised to have a Cardiac Ablation.
Feeling a little apprehensive about this, I went to the pre-op assessment and the nurses there put me at ease and were friendly too, which put my mind more at ease.
On the day of the procedure I was shown to the ward and everyone was friendly and helpful and I lost all my previous nerves.
The Consultant also came round and gave me a friendly smile, checking on my medication.
In the theatre their calm but efficient manner, and again friendly smile gave me confidence, and I'm pleased to say, though the Ablation had to e discontinued (by no fault of the Consultant or team), I was able to have a Cardioversion which helped me.
On going for my outpatient appointment the Main Receptionist was doing a grand job, in spite of some of the Self Check-in machines not working, and the nurse who gave me an ECG was very kind and helpful.
The Consultant then saw me to sign me off, and again their friendly air made me think I'd known them for years - so different from some Doctors in such positions!
I'd like to thank all the team involved with me, and especially the Consultant, for their care and help at what was to me, being ignorant of such matters, quite a worrying procedure.
"Cheers to the Cardiology Team"
