"Amazing support"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

My son regularly attends the Niall Quinn centre for his autism.  before he received his official diagnosis I heard many stories of how they would fob me off as he was still very young and if I got a diagnosis that would be it and I'd have to fight for everything, but so far we haven't been let down.  my son was diagnosed after 6 months and we see dr dasrathi on a regular basis who is a amazing support to us, I have rang her a few times and she's helped us out always took her time to get in touch with us.

My son really loves coming to hospital appointments but can get too over stimulated and running around.  she always makes a fuss of him and apologises if she's running late but what we really appreciate the most is the fact she speaks to my son she asks him questions, most people presume because he's non verbal he doesn't understand, he is more relaxed and settled when he is involved in the situation and although he can't answer she will ask him things and talk to him and will interact with him playing.

As a family we feel she deserves the recognition for the care and compassion she shows.

We're delighted to read your positive feedback and will ensure this is shared with the whole team in the Niall Quinn Centre.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.

The staff in the Niall Quinn Centre work really hard to ensure the children and their parents have the best possible experience and your comments really do show that their efforts have made such a difference.
