"My therapist was a caring and considerate person"

About: Inclusion Matters Wirral

(as a service user),

I was first referred to inclusion matters towards the end of 2015. My initial assessment was in Feb 2016 with my first therapy appointment in July 2016. However, after 2 (1 ½ in fact) appointments my therapist decided to end this intervention as she said I needed an intervention for health Anxiety at step 3, and I would be offered an appointment ‘as soon as possible’.

This appointment eventually came through in April 2017 and I found the wait for this appointment (9 months) unacceptable. Phone calls by myself and my doctor to Inclusion Matters seemed to have no effect. It appears to me that I should have been assessed for step 3 after the initial telephone assessment. Having recommenced therapy in April 2017 I attended 10 sessions. My therapist was a caring and considerate person and I have nothing but praise for the way he managed our sessions. He encouraged me at a very difficult time in a pleasant and professional manner.

Hi indiaxm44. Thank you so much for your feedback.

I am really sorry that you weren't put forward for the right therapy initially, but I'm glad that you accessed the correct support eventually. I'm so glad that you found your therapy sessions helpful, and wish you luck in your ongoing journey.
