"All necessary treatment provided promptly."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

On the overall, I would highly recommend R. O. H for ante-natal and post-natal services. I’ve had a high-risk pregnancy with twins and was always followed up with much detail. The staff was very available to assist anytime it was needed and answer questions. Most staff were very kind, helpful and went beyond what I expected taking care of me and my daughters. All necessary treatment provided promptly. Anaesthesia team and surgeons that performed my c-section were courteous, very professional and competent. Some midwives were very human (same to be said about some doctors) which is something very important in this type of work. Facilities are very good too.

In the downside, I felt that ante-natal appointments were excessively focused on baby and disregarded mother care a little bit. I also felt that guidance in relation to birth options would have been good.

I had one or two experiences of doctors that didn’t make me feel that they were listening seriously to the difficulties I was having during the delivery process.

In general, I was very happy though and felt very well taken care of.

We welcome feedback that can change the way our service is provided so I will forward your comments to our antenatal ward manager. This is because you said we could provided more information and support for you and not just focus on your medical needs.
