"I think the project will make us more active"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

I am part of the Sense of Community project on Cambridge Ward. I was involved in the planning of the project but I asked about money, but had mixed answers of £500 to spend at first, but I think we need at least £7000-8000.

We don't get much fresh air. A question to management is 'Are we entitled to fresh air? ' and if we are entitled, why are we not getting it?

I think the project will be very positive in getting us outdoors and help our well being, being more active.

I think that staff numbers are very low so I don't know how it's going to take off as much as we would like to see it.

HI,

The project does has a small amount of money attached to it but we will not be able to invest the requested amount. However, we can look at alternatives that are less costly, which your OT Glen has spoken to management about and looking into.

Yes, you are entitled to fresh air and I'm disappointed that you say you are not getting this. I will speak with your Ward Managers and Deputy Matron to see why this is not happening and ensure this does improve. If it doesn't please contact Helen or I.

We are recruiting for staff weekly however I understand that you have your establishment numbers but at time staff are moved to support other wards. We are trying very hard to improve this by recruiting and supporting increased clinical needs on other wards.
