"Lack of information from G.P Practice"

About: NHS Borders

(as the patient),

The recording for duns medical centre said this practice is closed. No information given as to why, or when it would reopen.

I ran out of tablets and luckily the pharmasist at the chemist gave me enough to see me through.

I didnt have a clue if phone lines were faulty or what was going on.

Please make the recordings that we are going to hear as a patient with a bit more info, rather than....this practice is closed and hung up!

I am sorry to hear about your experience when you tried to contact the Duns Medical Group and acknowledge how frustrating this must have been for you.

I was pleased to hear that you managed to get your tablets from the pharmacist.

I have spoken with Nicola, Practice Manager at Duns Medical Group, who has explained that she was aware of a problem with their telephone line on the public holiday on Monday 17 July 2017. Nicola has reported this problem to our Estates Department who are currently looking at ways of resolving this issue so it does not happen again.

I am following up on stories previously shared about NHS Borders on Care Opinion.

Having spoken with the Duns Medical Group today, I was pleased to hear that this issue with telephoning the practice on a public holiday has since been resolved and the phone message now states clearly that the practice is closed for the NHS public holiday and advises when they will be reopening.
