On the 8th of July, I managed to fall over and dislocate and break 2 bones in my ankle doing the most mundane of household chores - hanging out laundry (mis-stepped from living room onto patio).
Good friends drove me to A&E but had to leave as they were entertaining guests, at the time.
I have reached a goodly age and was less than one wk past my birthday but lucky me, have hardly ever been sick in my life - so this was my 1st time in A&E, 1st broken bones, 1st cast, 1st stay in hospital, 1st operation, 1st ride in 'hospital transport' (ambulance!) getting home. The list went on and goes on but I write to say, I was dealt with very quickly and efficiently in A&E and thereafter spent 4 nights in the Hospital, I have nothing but respect & gratitude for everyone in the chain in the medical profession and for the NHS - everyone, everyone I encountered was kind, respectful, courteous, concerned, helpful. I think I was on D Red, so hopefully some of the staff might recognise themselves - all I can say is Thank You. It made what was an awful circumstance almost pleasant.
"Thank You!"
