"A&E visit and subsequent admission to QEUH"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Cardiology (Heart Conditions) Wards 6c & 6d

(as a service user),

After being admitted to the Golden Jubilee Hospital in June 2015 for AF I had a further episode in August 2015 and presented to A&E at QEUH on a busy Friday night. I cannot fault the care and attention received both in A & E and when admitted to the ward. They kept both my wife and I Informed at all stages and a HCA even found my wife a phone charger so she could keep in touch with the kids!

I was pleased to find a forum to provide feedback as I feel most feedback heard is generally negative and people sometimes don't feel the need to talk about positive experiences.

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear Spera2829

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. I am sorry to read that you became ill and had to attend our A&E department in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. However, I am pleased to read about how you felt about the care that you and your wife received. It is important that all of our patients feel that they are well informed about their care as well as their loved ones.

I will share your kind words with the managers of the services. The staff will be delighted to receive your feedback.

Best wishes
Lisa
