"Unfriendly consultation"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gastroenterology

(as a relative),

I went to Wishaw hospital with my husband for an appointment to see the doctor. Our G. P had referred him for this appointment as he keeps on going from having constipation to having diarrhea.

The nurses were really nice but it seemed like the doctor was just not interested, they told us that we shouldn’t have bothered coming in to see them. In my mind, if you have an appointment you keep it, but we were made to feel like we shouldn’t have been there. The doctor was more interested in my husband’s shaking, he has parkinsons and when he feels stressed it makes him more shakey, but that isn’t the reason we were there. We were only in the consultation room for two minutes before the doctor said “off you go”. Maybe they were having a bad day but I didn’t think it was very nice to act so uninterested.

Dear Warmwr33

I am very sorry and disappointed to hear about your negative experience in our hospital. I am keen to explore this further to prevent this from happening in the future.

I would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Affairs Manager on telephone number 01698 366558 to enable me to investigate this fully.

Kind regards
