I was admitted to the Branston Ward on the 10July 2017. I was met by a member of staff who settled me in.
I was to have a Posterior Pelvic Floor Repair and a sacrospinous fixation. My operation was at 12.30
After coming around from the anesthetic I slept for awhile.
On waking
I was pleasantly surprised that I did not feel the usual affects from the anesthetic that I had experienced on previous occasions, in fact I felt so good that I had to ask the surgeon if they had done anything.
There was slight buttock pain the next day.
I was discharged the next day at 5pm.
This was a surprise, as I had understood that I would be in the hospital for about 3 days. I was given medication to take home, including antibiotics and injections that I had to give myself to prevent blood clotting.
I have one small criticism here and that is that I was not shown how to do the injection.
Perhaps this was because I was discharged so quickly.
As a result, I unfortunately messed up the first one at home and had to get a replacement from our GP. However, the nursing staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, they were efficient, kind and caring and I can only say that I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone. I would love to mention some of the names but might leave out some so will just say a big thank you to you all for your kindness and care.PS the food is good too.
:-)
Kind Regards, Norma Farmer.
