When I got past 40, I was contacted by Fulwood Medical Centre to have a check-up, or MOT if you like.

So glad I did.

I diagnosed with high cholesterol, and from then on I changed my diet and made improvements.

However, having been on anti-depressants for a few years, I also see my doctor fairly regularly.

Having little to no family support and few friends, I struggled with smoking and drinking and finding employment.

Although a lot of it was down to my desire to look after myself, nevertheless the support I got from my doctor at Fulwood enabled me to stop drinking and smoking.

I have not drank alcohol for 12 months and I haven't smoked for over 18 months.

I've also got my confidence back and have secured full-time employment.

I have had regular blood tests, and any niggles with my help have been dealt with very quickly and I have found this very reassuring.

Getting appointments has been very easy.

The drop in facility in the morning is particularly helpful if you're in need of urgent help.

But the ease of seeing my regular doctor has also been a great help.

I can't thank my doctor and the staff at Fulwood Medical Centre enough for their support.
