"still waiting"

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency

intially called 111 for advice and was directed to A&E at the NGH on arrival was dealt with adequately by reception, was called by triage whom i did feel could have made a decesion on whether i needed to keep waiting to see minor injuries, but it was decided i did then the wait ensued..... 1 hr 40 mins in i asked how long was the anticipated wait? to be snippily told i had only been there 1 hr and 40 mins!! and it could be another 2 to 3 hours!!

plus whilst there the cleanliness of the toilets were a digrace with a hosptal gown discarded in the corner? and paper towels everywhere. Also i was very thirsty and the one vending machine dispensing drinks was broken.... so not a good start.

Eventually i decided despite been concerned about my injury and been in pain i was not prepared to spend the evening in unsanitary surroundings with no access to clean drinking water, so i left and called my G.p the next day.

i should only return to A&E in a n ambulance and god forbid i would ever nedd to!!!!

definately room for improvement.
