i arrived at 3am in the morning to be greeted by an impatient calling me names and was suffering with high anxiety, which only made it worse by this patient wandering around the corridors wiping bogeys on chairs and being very verbal. Surely this lady would have been better off sedated at this time in the morning. The staff just sat in the office allowing her to freak me out. The toilet was full of faeces and the shower curtain was so short it flooded the floor allowing my towel my sanitary towels and nightwear to become wet as there is no where to put your things while in the shower. The food was disgusting quality and i wouldnt feed it to a dog. People suffering mental health need quality nutrition not that rubbish. I found the experience very frightening and highly stressful and was gnawing at the door after 1 night . The staff on fern ward just seemed to want to sit in the office and eat. It really did not help me and the crisis team are absolutely useless. I Also contracted scabies 6 weeks after my stay there and i have never had scabies. i could not sleep in there due to that woman on the loose.
