"My husbands Cardiac Arrest"

About: Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Cardiology

(as a relative),

On May 22nd 2017, My husband suddenly collapsed at my place of work and stopped breathing, an ambulance was called and a couple of my customers started to perform CPR. I was hysterical and ran across to my doctors surgery ( Highcroft Surgery ) to get help. The doctors and Nurses ran across to help my husband. Everyone worked so hard to save his life including paramedics, I was looked after by a lovely lady Lorraine who works in the office at the doctors, he was shocked 5 times in all and it took 55 minutes to get his pulse back before being rushed to hospital to have a stent.

I can't thank everyone enough for saving my soul mate x

I can’t imagine how frightening this experience must have been for you. I hope your husband is recovering well after his surgery and is feeling better.

We are proud to work alongside our GP colleagues and East Midlands Ambulance Service staff in delivering a very effective heart attack service. I’ll pass on your thanks to our cardiology team.

Sending my best wishes

Dr Alun Harcombe.

Thank you for sharing your experience through Care Opinion and NHS Choices.

I am pleased that my crew were able to be a part of a collective of people who were able to save your husband's life.

We have been able to locate the crew and I have passed on your thanks to them as it is always nice to share praise with them.

I hope your husband is making a good recovery.
