My dad had chemotherapy for prostate cancer which had metastasised into his bones at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. He was under the care of Dr Sara Khaksar and her team. Initially he responded well to treatment but sadly the disease returned. Dr Khaksar tried another two therapies but sadly they weren't successful. She was genuinely sorry that nothing further could be done for my dad and we felt that she literally pulled out all the stops for him. Every single member of staff that we encountered at St Lukes Cancer Centre, based st the RSCH, went above and beyond for what they could do for my dad. From the ladies making his appointments, the tea ladies on the chemo ward, the ladies in blood testing, the chemo nurses, the radiographers, the health care assistants at clinic and the doctors themselves, none of them could have been more helpful or caring. They included us in every stage of my dad's treatment and listened to any concerns. This little centre where they treat so many people is invaluable and I am so glad that my dad was able to be treated here and will be ever grateful to them.
