We have a family member there who's being cared for and as we visit a lot we can see the improvements that are helping her towards her release. some staff are very friendly and attentive while other staff member sit at the desk and talk very loudly about themselves while buzzers are going and patients are shouting "nurse nurse". its very distressing to hear a nurse barge in a room and ask very abruptly if there's is a fire because their conversation is being interrupted it seems.
And on another occasion shouting at someone because they are asking for the loo and telling them "you've just been you've just been" at the top of their voice. The patient may well have just been, but as delirium is a big part of lightburn the patient won't remember.
as a human being I understand looking after the elderly is a very hard job but if you've no compassion I don't believe you should not be in the job.
Light burn is at risk of closing staff sitting about looking as if they are doing nothing will not help the fight for it to stay open.
In my opinion dinner tea breaks are for sitting and talking.
