"Waiting for new chair"

About: WestMARC (West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre)

(as a service user),

I recently bought a wheelchair with support from my rehabilitation unit and have had an assessment from WestMARC earlier this year. They assessed the chair to check it fits in my car and that it suits my needs. Their assessment suggested I needed a different chair but have heard nothing since although I was expecting a new chair in April. I need a chair that tilts and also prevents sores as the one I currently have rubs in some places making it uncomfortable.

I feel as if they cannot be bothered to order a new chair for me as I currently have one.

Dear junekx69,

I am sorry that our service has left you feeling that we cannot be bothered. That’s definitely not what we want for you or anyone else for that matter. As a service we aim to provide a Patient focused service based on the clinical needs of our patients and from your description above it appears that we have not fulfilled this aim.
