(as a service user),

When my baby was born I was told that weight in clinics were being cancelled in my area. As a result of this I haven't seen my health visitor in months. There are many issues that I would have mentioned informally to my health visitor whilst having my baby weighed.

Instead of doing this I have gone to the Internet or friends for advice rather than making a specific phone call to my health visitor. I feel totally abandoned and unsupported by the health authority. On the one occasion I did call the number for health advice for my baby no one bothered to call me back.

Hi I am so sorry you feel our service has not supported you at this time. Our service has now changed as part of a new commissioning arrangement with the local Public Health commissioners within Nottinghamshire County Council. We now provide all the normal reviews as we did before, but also offer parents a direct advice line, in which you are able to speak to a Health Visitor straight away without any wait times, if after the call you still want to see a Health Visitor, they can arrange to come and home visit you or you can choose to have an appointment at a Health Visitor clinic, the direct number for this is advice line in Ashfield is 01623 557136.
