"why?"

About: Pathfields Medical Group

Twice been asked to contact surgery to discuss blood results(obviously a problem) to be told the doctor will only call afternoons. I work shifts and sometimes that means working afternoons. Really sad state of affairs. Don't know why I pay national insurance. Also partner wrote letter of complaint to practice manager to be totally ignored. Disgraceful business acumen. Disgusted by it all.

Many thanks for your feedback.

We try very hard to meet people's needs and fit around their complex lives and working environment.

However we also have to try and run a cost effective, safe service on a mere £85.35 per patient per year with patients consulting 6 times per year on average!

We therefore have limits on what we can do!

We usually call patients back in the afternoon regarding their blood results so we can deal with more urgent things in the morning.

Perhaps you could wait for a day when you are in in the afternoon?

Perhaps you could explain to reception your difficulties with work and ask them to see if you could get a call back earlier in the day?

Our receptionists will try and help where they can but have a very tough job trying to balance patient demand against available appointments - a kind word to them works wonders!

Thanks for your understanding and help
