For many years I have been helped by my local MS Specialist Nurse in Lanarkshire, Mhairi. She has been the most incredible support to me and to others living with MS in my area. I was devastated to discover at my last appointment with her that she was leaving the role. I was fortunate to have an appointment with her before she left so was able to let her know how much I will miss her. We have lost a valued, experienced professional.

Today, via the MS Trust website I noticed an advert from NHS Lanarkshire for her replacement. I am amazed and disappointed at the same time to see that there are TWO posts advertised for MS Specialist nurses, and I hope they will be as good as Mhairi was.

Dear H Chris,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the professional care you received from Mhairi, the previous MS Specialist Nurse. We recognise the significant contribution that Mhairi made to the patients and families of those that she was supporting and I can confirm that NHS Lanarkshire is working closely with the MS Trust to advertise and recruit to the vacant post; we are also trying to recruit an additional MS Specialist Nurse.
