My wife was diagnosed with a brain tumour (meninginoma) following an MRI at the Queen Elizabeth Glasgow. The neurologist also thought she potentially had an aneurysm but would require another MRI. She had spoken to the neurosurgeon and would get an appointment within 2 weeks. She did.
An appointment 2 months away. Can you imagine the distress? A potentially malignant brain tumour (cancer) and potentially a ticking bomb in your head and you are given a 1st consultant appointment 2 months away. Never mind starting any treatment. I feel this is an absolutely disgusting way to treat a fellow human being. So disillusioned with the NHS. What's the point of building a super hospital if you can't get to see a consultant?
"Neurosurgery waiting times."
