The actual c section went well the care I received leading up to it was fantastic all theatre staff were great. Shortly after the arrival our daughter she was rushed down nicu. All care was outstanding that was given to our daughter. I was in a lot more pain than my previous 2 sections. This could of been due to the fact I was up and about just a few hours later due to wanting to be with our daughter.
The care on postnatal was outstanding from some and poor from others. The biggest flaw was when meds were due. I was in an extreme amount of pain and due my meds at 4: 15pm. I finally received them at 550pm and this wasn't due to staff being busy as 4 members of staff managed to see to say they wasn't due when they was due as later I received a brief apology for my wait.
I handed over my own meds from home that they apparently labelled and put on meds trolley. I was also informed by a midwife that the whole ward would not have any of these particular meds all day due to running out and waiting for pharmacy. It just so happened my own meds from home went missing and were never handed back to me. All very unprofessional and from there on I administered my own pain meds from home and refused anything from the ward due to lack of trust in the staff.
