"Waiting times in fracture clinic"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Had an appointment in fracture clinic and was still waiting two hours later! I had to ask how long I was going to have to wait and all I got from one healthcare assistant was they're running late!

I was in loads of pain from a few other injuries and asked for help with them as I was struggling with walking with a leg plaster on and as I normally walk with 2 crutches I have been limited to the one and can't manage but they were not remotely interested in helping me with this! I got upset as I was in agony and kept asking if I could remake my appointment but they just kept walking away and not answering me! I know it's a busy clinic but some compassion could be used and at least offer people a drink when they say they're not feeling too good with being diabetic!

There was only one nurse that was helpful and made me feel better.

I think staff need to listen when someone asks for help!

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch. I am sorry to hear you experienced long waits in our clinic and that you found some of our staff did not listen to you or help you as we would expect. If you could contact me, we can discuss in more detail so that we can learn from your experience. My phone number is: 0115 924 9924 ext. 62075.
