"Appalling service"

About: Churchill Hospital / Diabetic medicine

I must say I am extremely disappointed and frankly angered by the service I received from OCDEM thus far. For my first ever appointment at the centre, it took an hour and a half after my allocated appointment time for the doctor to actually see me.

The receptionist was short and unapologetic, insisting that there were no delays despite the fact that I kept showing them my appointment letter with the allocated appointment time that had long since passed.

It turned out that between the receptionist and the doctor, they just forgot to send any patients in, so not only was I significantly delayed, so was every appointment after me.

I have been having a lot of strange symptoms that could be signs of another serious illness and the doctor ordered me to have some fairly urgent blood work done. It is now been 8 weeks and despite the doctor writing to me 7 weeks ago to say he will organize some blood tests, the tests have still not been booked.

Each time I phone to enquire, I am told that my file is on the doctors desk and he will order the blood work soon. I have now been hearing that same answer for two weeks.

For these tests, I had to come off another medication that I need for another pre-existing problem so while I sit and wait to diagnose one health problem, another one deteriorates!
