"Good care but not happy with mixed wards at Barnsley District General"

I was recently admitted to Ward 18 of the Barnsley District General Hospital for heart problems. I found the nursing care to be very good - I was treated with a smile and it was nice to see old people given respect. However, I was embarrassed to be in the same room as female patients - to me, it just doesn't seem right to have mixed wards, as it made me want to get out of bed and go home, or at least keep under the bed covers and out of the way.

However, I would like to thank all in ward 18 for the good care.
