I had to have a small operation in May and was treated at the Petter Day Treatment Unit. I was there as a day patient, despite my anxiety beforehand it was brilliant.
Leander and Rachel, the nurses who looked after me that day were lovely, however, it was Dr Love, the anesthetist who listened to my concerns, reassured me and made sure I was comfortable with the way the pain relief would be administered and managed who made it special.
I was to have general anesthetic but because I’m very panicky he did agree to give it very gradually. If at any time I wanted to withdraw he would stop and would switch to an epidural. Because of his care and understanding I felt this was a very special experience.
"I felt this was a very special experience."
