My husband & I arrived at Torbay at 12.30pm for the TIA clinic at 13.30, having been referred there from our GP in Bovey Tracey earlier that day. The outstanding service we received started from the moment we walked through the door to reception.
As we were early the receptionist said they would try & get the vascular scan done before the consult to move things along as quickly as possible.
We has only been sitting down for about 5 mins. when a nurse came to collect my husband & performed the scan.
We then moved onto the TIA clinic where after another short wait, a nurse came to carry out an ECG & check blood pressure levels. Not long after that (by 13.30 ish) we had our consultation with the doctor. Our ECG nurse & another nurse were present also.
The doctor was very approachable & friendly; asked for details of the TIA & carried out thorough tests to check my husbands reactions/balance etc. In view of my husband's history; the doctor then sent him for an MRI. & explained what would happen with regard to follow up.
The doctor was reassuring & professional & human!
At the MRI area, again, we received outstanding, friendly & speedy treatment.
We received fantastic treatment from everyone we came into contact with.
Thank you all so much for compassionate & wonderful care.
People are all too quick to criticise the NHS today when from our perspective, you all do an outstanding job, under difficult circumstances.
My husband is recovering well.
Many thanks once again.
:) :)
