"Best Holiday Aka Angioplayst PCI LAD"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency East Surrey Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

What was to be a fun, relaxing time in the sun turned out to be a total life saving experience due to the excellent medical attention by all the team East Surrey Hospital.

Here is my story...........

Being bought in by ambulance to the A&E dept upon arrival I started to receive the appropriate care immediately by the doctors carrying out bloods, ECG and extensive obs by the trainee doctor who bless her must have provided vital info to Cardio team in the Holmwood ward. Whilst bloods were being investigated the Cardio nurse had popped ova to see me and explain what was going to happen next as initial tests showed an cardiac event occurred but they were not sure what this was as all the tests seem to show all was ok. In the eve a CT scan was done to eliminate any bleeding and a senior Neurologist was called upon to confirm the all clear. Next day the senior cardiology team informed me an ANGIOPLAYSTY will take place. What's next was a total shock as during the procedure they found a serious blockage which they immediately cleared with a STINT. Had it not been for the initial diagonasious by the A&E team, followed thru to the cardiology team lead by Consultant Dr S Banjeree, and the surgical team performing the Stint this may have ended in a fatal scenario had I been sent home without the procedure taken place. Finally many thanks to the entire team the NHS is stretched no doubt about that but East Surrey Hospital definitely saves my life to which I am and will always be very grateful.

Thanks you once again.
