I visited the clinic today from advice of my GP with regards to a concern that is extremely worrying to me. I was told I would be put on a waiting list to be seen, which was fair enough to me as I understand it is a busy service that's in high demand, therefore I filled a form with my details and was told I would receive a phone call when I can be seen.
I waited in a local cafe for two and a half hours with my phone on the table infront of me so that I could be sure not to miss a call. When my phone started to ring I answered only to be rung up on when saying hello. I swiftly walked back to the clinic within 5 minutes of the attempted phone call and explained to the receptionist. The receptionist spoke to a colleague and I must say they were extremely rude and dismissive of me, barely able to make eye contact with me, which made me feel very uncomfortable. The other receptionist told me that I had missed my phone call and that I had now been put to the back of the waiting list, again being very dismissive when I tried to explain that I attempted to answer the call and had not "not answered my phone".
I'm quite frankly appalled that someone with such poor people skills should be working in a job where a little kindness and care would go a long way when dealing with people of whom could be in a vulnerable state or fragile state.
