Attended A & E with my son in the early hours of Monday morning with acute sudden onset lower abdominal pain.
Had to wait for 45 minutes plus before he was even triaged and that was after my husband had visited the Reception desk once again to say he was in severe pain.
After the wait, we were transferred through to the Paediatric sub division of A & E.
On admission into the triage room, the nurse on duty did not welcome us, nor did they introduce themselves and the first question I was asked was "are you known to Social Services?".
Is this standard procedure nowadays in A & E? Personally, I found it extremely offensive and rude.
After a 5 hour wait, my son was eventually discharged home, with little or no explanation of what could have caused his pain although it did subside a little.
Its been two days since his visit and he still is suffering pain.
He has a scan booked for today so, hopefully, we will get to the bottom of what the cause of the pain is.
