"I want to commend the wonderful team"

I am recovering from a hysterectomy. I feel it's important to commend the wonderful team who made my experience such a positive one. From my consultant Dr Rae to all the wonderful nurses, receptionists and hard working auxiliaries.

I was made to feel safe and cared for at every opportunity. Even when it was noticeable that staff were pushed for numbers, this was clearly explained and I was assured I would be seen to as soon as possible but if I felt it urgent then someone was a buzz away. I had some brief problems after surgery and these were explained and assessed constantly to ensure my wellbeing I was also kept a further night to ensure I was fit to go home and the problem was resolved.

My room was immaculate and I had meals and drinks throughout my stay.

I have been under the gynaecology team for 22 years, this surgery has been the end of my journey with them. They have been sensitive and made it as dignified as possible and I feel extremely blessed to have a wonderful team who are doing a sterling job under such difficult pressure that the system is under. I made sure I was healthy for surgery and they cared for me from start to finish. They truly are angels in disguise.
