"They made me and my family feel so welcome"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

I had my baby last week and I couldn't be more pleased with the care we have received throughout my pregnancy and birth from the community midwives making me feel at ease and answering all my questions and sending me for investigations where they thought necessary to cover everything. I had my baby in the birth centre at Royal Oldham Hospital and it was the most amazing experience made even more amazing by the staff especially Steph my midwife and Carrie the health care assistant they made me and my family feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble they are all truly remarkable unfortunately I can't remember everyone's name but I can't thank them all enough and Steph again for picking up on my son's infection. We are currently still in the hospital receiving care for his infection and again the staff have all been great with us and looked after us both on the post-natal ward. We are so lucky to have the NHS and it's amazing staff who without them it would fall apart. Thank you to you all.

Thank you for telling your story, it is always good to hear that women have had a positive experience from our maternity service. I will ensure that the community midwives and birth centre staff are made aware that you had an 'amazing experience'. Additionally I will pass on your thanks to the postnatal team, they will be glad to hear that you are happy with the care that you have received.
