"Totally on top of their game"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham / General surgery

(as a service user),

Recovering from a planned laparoscopic cholecystectomy that had to change to an open procedure. All the ward staff from nurses, to HCSW's and ancillary staff were warm, compassionate, welcoming and totally on top of their game.

This is my first major operation but all staff appeared to have the time to respond and chat despite some challenging nurse ratios imposed by the Trust. Nurses regularly stayed on to finish procedures etc.
