I am being discharged tomorrow having undergone AHSCT (autologous hemopoetic stem cell transplantation)
I have been on Weston Ward for the past 19 days and prior to that had many appointments with the transplant team and day centre,
I have found the care from this team to be second to none.
At all stages of the process I was well informed and treated with professionalism, care and compassion.
Through what could have been a brutal process, all measures were deployed to keep me comfortable and safe.
Yes the ward could do with a lick of paint but all the staff, from the senior consultants to the cleaners treated me with a very high level of care and compassion and applied humour where it was needed.
My experience is that the care here is absolutely first class and my heartfelt thanks go to all who were involved in my care.
Thank you,
"Haematology Department - First class"
