"Visit for cataract operation"

About: Braintree Community Hospital

My mum had never had an operation before so she was a bit anxious of what to expect.

Another patient had put my mum at ease and said that there was nothing to worry about which put my mum's mind at rest.

During the operation a ? nurse had asked my mum if she wanted her hand held which she said yes to.

This helped her to put her at ease and felt reassured during the operation - she was very grateful about this personal touch.

She was conscientious that during the operation she had a tissue in her hand - she wanted to re-assure that person it was from her eye and not her nose.

After the operation she was given clear information (both verbal and written) which was easy to understand about the after care.

We are very happy with the staff and care that my mum had received and would like to thank everyone especially to that person who held my mum's hand during the operation
