"A & E 0645 - 0930"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Accident and emergency

Having arrived at A&E at approximately 0645, I was greeted warmly by a reception staff member, who was also calm and professional. The reason for my visit was due to the fact my 88 year old mother, who has a range of concerns, from Alzheimer's to COPD. My mother had fallen out of bed at 0045 where she sustained a nasty cut on her leg. All the staff who dealt with the medical side were excellent' providing my mother with dignity, respect and made sure she was involved with any questions, and was given reassurances throughout her visit, eventually being taken to my car in a wheelchair by a lovely nurse who was happy to provide assistance without any prompting from my mother or myself.

Although it was a traumatic experience for my mother, it was made so much more bearable due to the wonderful NHS staff who could not be faulted in any way.

We are so lucky to have these underpaid and overworked staff to which I for one am delighted with.
