"I was made to feel welcome and relaxed"

About: Ayrshire Central Hospital / Chiropody/Podiatry

(as a service user),

I was very apprehensive about having my toenail removed after a previous experience, however as soon as I met the staff at the podiatry outpatients clinic at Ayrshire central I was much more relaxed.

The procedure was carried out with great organisation and patient care. I was talked through the procedure step by step and all my fears discussed. The worst part was the numbing injections then I felt nothing. Even afterwards the pain was manageable and the after care advice very precise.

On returning a few days later to have my dressing changed, I was made to feel welcome and relaxed again as everything was spoken about and I left knowing exactly what to expect in the next few weeks. Also being given a number to call with any concerns.

A special mention to James and Maureen who carried out the procedure with professionalism and kept me calm. Also to Moira  who redressed my wound a few days later and talked through my questions with me. First class team!

Dear Alibean

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your positive patient experience of nail surgery undertaken by James & Maureen and follow up primary dressing appointment with Moira.

I will certainly pass your kind words and posting onto the members of staff involved and to the wider team. I very much appreciate all feedback received.

kind regards & very best wishes

Rhona
