My name is Sharon Dooley and I had cause to use the Out of Hours GP service last night.
I checked on the internet which said I could walk in between the hours of 18.00 and 23.00, which I did.
I was told that because I had not phoned 111 I would have to go through the A&E route.
More information is required on the internet.
I was taking up A&E time when it was not necessary, therefore adding to their workload.
Whilst I felt the system was unsatisfactory, I would like to point out that the care I received throughout cannot be faulted.
Also, I was given a prescription that could not be filled at the time as the pharmacy was closed.
(The staff very kindly gave me a first dose before I left).
When I returned to the hospital this morning to fill my prescription they refused because it was written on a green prescription, not a white one.
The pharmacy suggested I go to A&E and ask them to re-do the prescription on a white form, which I refused to do as they are busy enough.
I ended up going to a pharmacy in town, therefore more time had passed before I could commence my medication.
Why can the Lloyds Pharmacy at the hospital not fill green prescriptions?
