"the standard of care dramatically dropped"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was admitted with sepsis at 35 weeks and baby was induced, the care I received on the labour ward for a few days whilst there was brilliant, couldn't fault them however when I was moved to a ward afterwards the standard of care dramatically dropped, being told a few hours after giving birth to walk to get you're own breakfast wasn't very nice especially as I was in a lot of pain.

My baby was taken to intensive care as she was early and when they rang to say to go and see her I was told no one was available to take me as they are short staffed and busy, another time I wasn't even informed they had rang. The cleaners are rarely seen so have been cleaning my room/ toilet myself.

Thank you for your previous feedback. As a direct result of your comments we have made a change to our service.

We now leave cards in each room on the postnatal ward when mothers are not present and the room has been cleaned.
