I have suffered from ulcerative colitis for many years, being diagnosed way back in 2005, and I have been linked in with the IBD care team at the RAH for most of this time as they continue to take care of my treatment.
I wanted to write this to express my gratitude and thanks to those involved in my care and also explain a bit about what makes the service so valuable to me and others in my position.
IBD is an illness that can be constantly in flux and require support on many levels. Having specialist, dedicated staff that are available as and when you need them gives patients like myself stability and confidence when living day to day with IBD.
Although I have regular reviews and appointments with the team I am also able to reach them (via telephone or email) as issues arise, giving me huge peace of mind and ensuring that any symptoms I may be experiencing are not left to gradually worsen.
The team have been able to assist me with a wide range of things from any general enquires I may have had through to effectively managing my condition, medication and potential side effects.
I am in no doubt that my physical health, and my psychological well-being, are both in a good place as a direct result of the care I have received from the team.
I have also come into contact with other previous and existing patients who have worked with/still work with the IBD care team in the RAH in Paisley and all hold the staff, and their service, in as high regard as I do.
"In gratitude of my care"
