"Exceptional care for my mother"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

I am writing this on behalf of my mother who has just left the Fielding ward after 2 weeks of exceptional care.

My mum was cared for to the highest standard that anyone could wish for.

She had been on to MAU 2 weeks previously and discharged the following day with the same problems.

This time she was under a Cardiologist who showed exceptional care towards my mum and made sure she was not going home until all tests had been carried out.

We could not fault any of the care my mum received, all the staff who looked after my mum was caring, and sympathetic to her needs. They were so lovely and nothing was ever too much trouble and they all work extremely hard and deserve all the credit.

The food was very good and plenty of it.

The ward was very clean, and amenities was good too.

When we left my mum after visiting we knew she would be in the best hands, which was comforting.

Even when she was discharged, I had to call the ward for little advise and there was a nurse who called me daily for a couple of days after to make sure she was ok, which was a lovely touch and put our minds at rest, and to think they are looking after other patients at the same time.

Amazing people and thank you.

Dear Gilly64, thank you so much for taking the time to post your recent experiences at Musgrove. It is so lovely to read that you felt the care across our teams and services was of such a high standard. I will make sure that this is shared with cardiology, Fielding ward and our facilities team, as they work so hard to make sure our environments, food and care are the best they can be.

I hope your mum continues to recover well at home.

Kindest regards

Karen

Dear Gilly64

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback and grateful appreciation for the ward. I hope your mother is recovering really well.

We are all really passionate on the ward about the care we give to both our patients and their relatives. Being in hospital can be a very anxious time for all involved and it is so important that we ensure the highest standards of care and treatment are shown.

I am very proud of the team and I will ensure they receive this wonderful feedback.

Kind regards,

Jackee Phillips
