"Rowan ward (child HDU)"

About: Woodbourne Priory (birmingham)

I can't express to you enough how awful this unit was, I was there for about 5 months and finally got moved to a picu which was the best thing that could ever have happened to me! The dr there is a complete and utter disgrace, just to name a few of the things that had happened there, I had blood on my walls the doctor then made jokes about this and continued to draw on the walls in my blood, I was told to cover my arms up as it is horrible for others to see and much more I don't wish to disclose as if I'm honest that place has traumatised me. The lack of envolvement with both myself as a patient and my parents was awful, the team never told them of any incidents I was having and failed on multiple occasions to keep myself and other patients safe. The ambulance and police were constantly out there 9 times out of 10 due to the staff not keeping an eye on their patients and not keeping us safe! If you get told your child may be going there I urge you very strongly to ask for a different hospital, this place will only make you worse and does no good whatsover!
