What could be improved
I visitited A&E Tuesday evening with a a painful foot after a fall. i had x ray and was informed by the Doctor that my foot was broken. looking at the xray the doctor informed me it was broken and that i would need to have a plaster fitted. The nurse who applied the plaster informed me after enquiring about the length it would take to repair and was informed approx 6 weeks. As you can imagine in this present work climate i informed my works because of cover and to keep them up to date. i was asked to visit the plaster clinic on the thursday morning which i did and the cosultant ordered new x-ray. I was informed by the consultant that there was no broken bones and was discharged. i now feel confused and although my foot still hurts this has cast doubt on the expertise of the casualty dept.I have now spoilt a perfect work record by having time off when there was clearly no need to have. Although i am happy that i have not got a broken bone ?i am upset that i have informed my works on a wrong diagnosis and would like a letter of apology from the dept to show my employer that i was not embelishing the outcome for time off work.
