"Excellent day surgery experience"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Day Surgery Unit

(as the patient),

I was admitted for day surgery at Royal Infirmary Edinburgh and wanted to share my experience.

My initial meetings before surgery with the surgeon and the anaesthetist were very informative. I was made to feel at ease and all of my questions were answered there and then. Surgery went well and as soon as I was awake and moved to a ward, the surgeon came to visit and was immediately able to give ma an update on my condition, which I thought was excellent.

In addition, I think the nursing staff went beyond the call duty in finding me some cheese (my favourite thing! ) to eat when I was having a cup of tea during my recovery.

The level of care I received was second to none and despite how busy the nursing staff were, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I would like all of the staff concerned to know how much I appreciate their efforts to make me feel comfortable during my short stay.

Dear JadeTara

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us following your recent surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

I was really pleased to read how smoothly everything went, from the anaesthetist and the surgeon being able to answer all your questions and putting you at ease; how the nursing staff cared for you, even managing to find you a cheese sandwich.

I have shared your lovely feedback with the staff, who I am sure will be delighted to read your kind words.

I hope you are now well on the road to recovery and thank you again for sharing your experiences with us.

Kind regards

Jeannette

Dear Jade Tara,

Thank you very much for your kind words. I am delighted to hear that you had a positive experience in one on my clinical areas and that the staff managed to find you some cheese during your recovery.

I hope that you are continuing to recover after your procedure and I will pass on your comments to the team.

Best wishes

Gordon
