What I liked

My Brother-in-Law was in Surgical Intensive Care. First of all they managed to rush through results that other hospitals couldn't do. The staff in this dept were so kind and compassionate. We were allowed to gather as a family and were given plenty of space and privacy. We were constantly updated on his condition and were allowed to go in and see him whenever we liked. When it became apparent that he was dying, the staff very quickly gathered us together and explained very clearly what was happening. We were given the opportunity we needed to say goodbye to him. King's did absolutely everything they could for him and made his last hours peaceful and dignified. His children got to say goodbye because of their expertise. They will also not be left with terrible memories like a lot of people go through in situations like this. His surgeon was fantastic, so very honest which we really appreciated. Thank you, if ever I need the care of an intensive care ward, I hope it is at King's.
