Having had some spare time before an outpatient appointment earlier today I decided to pop up to C8 where I had a week on the ward following my brain bleed which happened in Amsterdam whilst trying to get a connecting flight to Rome for my wifes birthday in January.
Long story short. My stay on the ward was a mixed experience (generally good) but the one thing that stood out for me was the physiotherapy that I had in my short time there. I so looked forward to getting off the ward and into the therapy room to begin my road to recovery. I still have the videos on my phone that were taken during some exercise routines which I watch now and again just to remind me how far I've come since then. I was later transferred to West Park Hospital in Wolverhampton where my rehabilitation continued for a further six weeks and still continues at Corbett and at home.
I asked to see if the physios were there today and thankfully they were. It was lovely to catch up with them and for them to remember me made me feel quite emotional. Although my initial rehab began in Amsterdam the real work began on C8 with these guys and I can't thank them enough. My strength and determination to get better is down to them and their faith in me.
