My mum has been diagnosed with psychotic depression and has been in and out of whytemans brae for as long as I can remember. Shes still not very well but decided to discharge herself. Whytemans brae contacted me asking if they put her in a taxi could I possibly meet her at her house which I agreed to. I sat outside my mums house for an hour and a half and after still no sign of her I contacted the hospital again. Mum had still not left but they were giving her a bus pass and just letting her go... my mum doesnt know the area at all so didnt have a clue where she was going... after still no sign of her we had to contact the police as midnight had came and gone. Police found her sitting in a random bus stop in tears, freezing as she couldnt find where she was to go. I am absolutely livid that nothing was done to try get my mum home safely instead of just sent out to find her own way.. if they werent going to send her in a taxi the least they could have done was send her in one to the bus station! ! Or have some sort of patient transport in place to help those who cant drive get home safe. Anything could have happened to her!
