I moved to Leicestershire last year half way through my pregnancy. The team @ St.Mary's made the transition of appointments etc easy. The actual birth was amazing (August 2016). We had called to say we were coming in with little notice and by the time we got there a room was ready, warm and clean, and the midwife had already started filling the bath for my waterbirth. The midwife really made the overall experience at St.Marys. The midwife was so lovely, friendly, helpful, supportive and calming, they really looked after us. After I had given birth, I became quite faint and collapsed in the shower. This happened a couple of times so the midwife ended up helping me get dressed. The midwife really went above and beyond. Everything felt so relaxed, we weren't rushed to leave the room and while we were given space to enjoy our newborn we were checked on now and again to make sure we were ok and offered cups of tea and support etc. Compared to having my first child at a hospital, my experience this time round with my second child at St.Marys was far better. If I didn't have an excited big sister at home waiting to meet her little sister I would have loved to have stayed in for a few days. I would recommend anyone considering birthing at St.Marys to go for it. If I am fortunate to have another child I will definitely be returning!
"Highly recommend!"
