"Our son had an accident late on ..."

What I liked

Our son had an accident late on Friday night and was seen in A&E promptly and given pain reflief quickly. Staff were reassuring and made decisions about his care fairly quickly. We transferred to childrens ward at 1.30am and were met by friendly and welcoming staff who helped us settle in for the night after the trauma of the accident. We were encouraged to ask questions at any time. We saw the Orthopaedics consultant early on Saturday who explained the procedure he would be carrying out and again we were encouraged to ask questions. Theatre staff were very accommodating and put our young son at ease, explaining step by step what was happening. Back on Childrens' ward for the rest of the day we were well looked after and pleased with the level of care and professionalism of all staff. Coming from out of the area (we were camping for the weekend nr Leominster) we have been very impressed with all the staff at Hereford County Hspital, from the lady on reception in A&E to the nurses and doctors and auxilliary staff. Thak you very much and well done!

The food on ward for patients - perhaps because it was the weekend?
