"She did not get the treatment she deserved"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Accident and emergency Basildon University Hospital / General medicine Basildon University Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My Wife was taken in to A&E Basildon by ambulance service due to the fact she was in chronic pain in her left hip (she as two artificial hips first one fitted by Orsett Hospital right hip the second done by Basildon left hip) she spent 5 hours in A&E after having a x-ray a orthopaedic doctor decided to admit her for further investigation. She was then admitted to A. M. U west.

The next morning she was seen by another orthopaedic Doctor and she was told that they were not happy with the previous nights x-ray and had ordered a batch of new x-rays. She was then transferred to Florence Nightingale ward which she spent the 3 days till awaiting x-rays, we were told that she would definitely be having them that afternoon then another Orthopaedic Surgeon came into see her with me present and said that x-rays were not needed and if she felt like it she could go home with the medication she had been given to control her pain.

If would like to go home then appointments for following week would be made to have a injection into her left hip and a appointment would be made with pain management. It is now 5 days later and she's still as chronic pain. After phoning Basildon Hospital Orthopaedic out patients they knew nothing about such arrangements. If we had known this before, she wouldn't have come out of Hospital. I think that she was badly treated and feel she did not get the treatment she deserved.
